Crested Community is located on Brady Island taking into context the community from the demographics, local surrounding schools, and a site visit to Living Earth; a mulch recycling facility. I wanted to design a building that would offer the surrounding community a third place to be besides school or work, as well as teach them the process of how their local mulch is made. This is reflected in the circulation and placement of the mulching facility program, being in the heart of the island & coming into contact with the purpose of the concrete arch facade, reflecting an open welcome secure area for the neighborhood.
